This is my latest work. It is a ceramic piece which has been painted, polished and supported by wooden sticks. This is a conceptual work which talks about an emotional state of carrying too many problems on ones shoulders. It is about barely getting over one problem to find another, bigger and more sophisticated problem built tight on top. The fresh problem looms and squashes the older problem into nonexistence. But the whole structure has become rickety and is at risk of toppling. Instead of crashing to the ground, the structure is supported by sticks, synonymous with crutches. The desperate structure is forced to persevere and in some way it gains an archetypal kind of respect. This ungainly structure is almost beautiful because of its history and character and the tarnished surface treatment expresses the pieces irregularity and oddity.
